Continuing on our top interior design trends for 2026, here is Part 2! Let us know what you think. Did we miss anything you’re seeing or would like to see?

STATEMENT LIGHTING AND SCULPTURAL DETAILS

Lighting is no longer purely functional– it’s architectural.

  • Sculptural pendants, oversized fixtures and layered lighting serve as visual anchors.
  • Decorative metalwork, fringes, and tactile materials add artistic detail.
  • Use a dramatic fixture in an unexpected place and play with varied heights.

PAINTERLY, HAND-CRAFTED TILE AND MOSAICS

  • Hand painted and artisan tile designs (floral, graphic, bespoke pattern)
  • Replacing mass-produced geometric tiles
  • When utilized correctly, the tile itself becomes the artwork.
  • There is also a spike in mosaic tile use– inspired by mid century and global references– adding color, craft and cultural rhythm to rooms.

DEEP, MOODY & DRAMATIC PALETTES- EMOTIONAL COLOR PAIRINGS

Beyond earthy neutrals, rich jewel tones- like burgundy, ochre, plum, aubergine, and smokey blues– are being embraced as new neutrals, adding character and intimacy to spaces.

  • Play with high-contrast color on trim and architectural details to add subtle drama
  • Nature-inspired but vivid hues– such as terracotta, mossy green, oceanic blue, and deep plum– are emerging palettes that are both grounded and energizing

LAYOUT, USE AND SPATIAL ZONES

While open concepts aren’t disappearing, designers are creating intentional zones for dining, working, gathering, and meditation, often using furniture placement or lighting rather than walls.

  • Defined zones over open floor plan
  • Dedicated quiet spaces- reading nooks, meditation corners, creative desks– are emerging as must-have features that support daily wellness and mental reset.
  • Outdoor living areas are being designed as intentional extensions of 2026 design leans toward warmth over stark minimalism, nature-inspired color and materials, comfort and personal expression, curves and textures as primary actors, and sustainability and authenticity over superficial trends. This in turn combines modern technology with vintage beauty.

PERSONALIZED AND STORY-DRIVEN INTERIORS

Homes are becoming unique expressions of the people who live in them. Mix vintage items with contemporary pieces for a curated, collected feel.

  • Lived in, layered spaces that include antiques, repurposed pieces, and artwork tell a story.
  • Textile wall hangings, pattern play, and bold tile work add narrative and texture.
  • Wallpaper, patterned fabrics, and bespoke elements replace generic surfaces.

As design moves forward in 2026, luxury is no longer defined by excess but by atmosphere—rich materials, expressive forms, and curated comfort, where innovation and heritage coexist in spaces designed to feel both elevated and enduring.

hello sourAV

We are half way through 2025; can you believe it?! The world of interior design continues to embrace sustainability, functionality, and personal expression…and we couldn’t be happier about it! Here are the top 10 interior design trends for 2025 forecasted to define homes the rest of the year. Additionally, I’ve included my observations if we are seeing any of these trends in our local or Santa Fe projects…

1. Earthy Color Palettes: Shades like terracotta, warm taupe, and sage green dominate interiors, bringing nature-inspired serenity into homes.

  •  Of course, this is always incorporated in typical Santa Fe design but we really love updating the look with contemporary forms and clean lines. We’ve definitely been inspired in our Dallas projects from working in Santa Fe the last couple years!

See more of this project here!

2. Sustainable Materials: Expect a surge in eco-friendly materials like bamboo, recycled glass, and reclaimed wood for everything from furniture to flooring.

  • I think many of our manufacturers are looking for better ways to use sustainable materials and practices, down to the way they package their products. For example, they are substituting recyclable paper products for packing and being intentional in their crating for the least amount of waste. We try our best to source as many American made products as possible to cut down on importing and contributing to transporting from far away. This also helps with project lead times!

This vendor is working hard to pack their furniture in the most sustainable way; reducing waste and using recyclable materials. Check out our newest project here!

3. Textured Walls: From limewash finishes to 3D wall panels, textured walls are making a statement, adding depth and personality to living spaces.

  • Don’t get me started on lime wash paint! We have been implementing it into our projects the last year and love it! A natural easy paint finish that adds a nice layer to any space. Additionally, we are always on board with wall coverings or wallpaper! We do not have to treat all of the walls to help cut on cost.

Dimensional tile is still very present in our new build and remodel projects! Check out this all time favorite project in Heath, Texas here!

4. Wellness Spaces: Meditation corners and home gyms with spa-like elements are becoming essential for mental and physical well-being.

  • Post 2020, we are seeing clients really invest in these spaces at home and also the office! It’s so important to have a space to rewind and disconnect from the world so we are happy to include these spaces into new builds and renovations.

5. Vintage Revival: A blend of mid-century modern and 1970s-inspired pieces is back in style, bringing nostalgia with a contemporary twist.

  • Yes! And if you’re nervous to incorporate this vibe, start with smaller pieces. For example, a piece of art that you pull the colors from for throw pillows. And if you don’t know how to do it, you know where to go! 😉

6. Multifunctional Furniture: With homes becoming more dynamic, furniture that serves multiple purposes, such as sofa beds and extendable tables, is gaining popularity.

  • We love the aesthetic of a beautifully designed space, but there is something so wonderful about an efficient space too! With many people working part time from home, a space that can be flexible and serve two purposes is a nice option. Our team is always looking at how our clients use a space for the furniture layout!

7. Biophilic Design: The integration of natural elements, from indoor plants to living green walls, continues to thrive in 2025.

  • Bringing the outside in is always going to be important for the health and wellbeing of the inhabitants. We are always focusing on bringing greenery inside, whether it is living or faux. Research shows even faux greenery has a positive mental effect.

Check out this new project here!

8. Statement Lighting: Bold, sculptural light fixtures are taking center stage, transforming rooms into modern art galleries.

  • Lighting is one of our favorite ways to change the space. Whether it’s a statement fixture or accent LED lighting.

The lighting in this powder room is simple but elegant. It makes a huge impact in this small space!

9. Curved Furniture: Soft, rounded silhouettes in sofas, chairs, and tables create a sense of comfort and fluidity.

  • Never underestimate the addition of curves! They soften up the space and make it more inviting, by breaking up the harsh edges.

10. Tech-Integrated Spaces: Smart home technology is seamlessly blending into design, with voice-activated systems and sleek, unobtrusive devices.

Whether you’re planning a complete renovation or subtle updates, these interior design trends for 2025 offer inspiration for creating a stylish and comfortable home in 2025. Which trend will you incorporate into your space?

hello sourAV

In the ever-evolving realm of interior design, let’s roll up our sleeves and delve into the nitty-gritty of what makes today’s interiors stand out. Our focus today? Three key elements that are quietly revolutionizing the modern aesthetic: accent ceilings, custom lamp shades & sconces, and the artful continuation of elements. No frills, just a straightforward chat about what really matters in today’s design landscape.

Accent Ceilings Applications

Elevating the Fifth Wall: Accent Ceilings

Imagine walking into a room where your gaze is immediately drawn upward, captivated by a stunning accent ceiling. From the timeless allure of faux crocodile textures to the chic and reflective tiled mirrors, today’s designs ensure that the ceiling is no longer a forgotten canvas but a focal point in its own right.

The Glossy Elegance of Lacquered Finishes

Lacquered finishes, once confined to furniture, have gracefully ascended to grace ceilings. The sleek and glossy finish brings a touch of sophistication and style, making a bold statement overhead.

Playful Prints and Industrial Chic

For those with an eye for subtlety, cute small prints on the ceiling add a touch of playfulness without overwhelming the space. Meanwhile, metallic paneled wall coverings infuse an industrial chic vibe into the ceiling, creating a dynamic visual impact.

Nature-Inspired Elegance: Plaster Foliage and Ombre Accent Ceiling

Nature takes center stage with designs featuring plaster foliage details, seamlessly bringing the outdoors inside. And then there’s the showstopper – ombre on the ceiling, a gradient of colors creating a breathtaking visual effect.

Custom Lamp Shades & Sconces

Harmonizing with Surroundings: Custom Fabric

Now, let’s shift our focus downward to lighting. Custom lamp shades and sconces act as extensions of your room’s personality. Matching fabrics seamlessly tie lighting elements to the surrounding décor, creating a harmonious atmosphere.

Drama and Modernity: Backlit Plaster Organic Shapes

For those seeking drama and modernity, backlit plaster organic shapes add a captivating touch to your lighting design. The repetition of patterns throughout the room enhances the cohesive aesthetic, turning your space into a carefully curated work of art.

Element Movement & Continuation

Seamless Transition: Wallpaper from Wall to Accent Ceiling

Walls and ceilings are no longer separate entities but part of a seamless design. Wallpapers gracefully transition from walls to ceilings, creating a sense of continuity. Curves in design elements generate soft, subtle movements that enchant the eye and elevate the overall ambiance.

Vertical Lines: Height and Drama

Vertical lines, whether in wallpaper or lighting fixtures, add height and drama to your space. They draw the eye upward, making any room feel more expansive and grand.

Wallpaper, It’s Here to Stay!

Custom wallpapers inspired by nature or unique designs are not mere trends; they are timeless elements that endure. Upholstered doors, ombre on the ceiling – these are the details that stand the test of time. This above photo is from a designer is based in Louisiana. It’s custom wallpaper designed after their state flower. Notice also how she upholstered the closet doors. Love it!

Patterned Floors

Artistry Beneath Your Feet: Custom Tiles and Geometric Designs

Now, let’s look down. Paying attention to every detail, custom marble tiles in the kitchen and the juxtaposition of geometric patterns with traditional elements create a captivating mosaic underfoot.

Scales of Pattern: Intricate Details to Bold Designs

Patterns on the floor are a dance of scales. From intricate details to bold, larger-than-life designs, the floors are a testament to our commitment to making every square inch of your space a work of art.

In the realm of contemporary interior design, these are not just trends; they’re the elements of a design dialogue, where every detail tells a story of elegance and sophistication. Join us in elevating your living spaces with these design wonders, where every choice is a part of an ongoing conversation about the beauty and functionality of your home.

It’s clear that modern interiors are all about paying attention to the little things and making dynamic choices. Think about unexpected charm in your ceilings, personal touches with custom lamps, and a seamless flow in how your design elements come together. As we navigate through the changing world of design, it’s obvious that a well-put-together space is more than just arranging furniture. 1. Embracing Simplicity and Sophistication

Modern and contemporary staircases embrace the art of simplicity. Think clean lines, uncluttered shapes, and a blend of materials like steel, glass, and wood. “Less is more,” affirms interior designer Sarah Martinez. “Opt for subtle elegance through minimalist designs. A well-designed staircase can be a canvas for showcasing the beauty of simplicity.”

As the world embraces sustainable and eco-friendly practices, interior design trends have also taken a delightful turn toward natural materials. In the realm of lighting, there is a growing fascination with the charm and elegance that comes from incorporating elements sourced directly from Mother Nature.

leather straps lighting with natural products

From leather straps that lend an air of rustic sophistication to the timeless beauty of natural stone, slate, and wood veneer, these materials are illuminating the path to a more sustainable and aesthetically pleasing future. Let’s explore four main points that highlight the captivating trends in lighting through the enchantment of natural materials.

neutral lighting trends include this leather infused hanging light

1. Leather (and Leather Straps)

Leather, long celebrated for its luxurious appeal, has ventured beyond its traditional domain of fashion and upholstery to grace the world of lighting. By embracing leather straps, lighting fixtures have adopted a rustic yet refined charm. These straps not only serve as durable support but also add an organic touch to modern pendant lights and chandeliers. The versatility of leather straps allows them to complement various interior styles, from industrial lofts to cozy farmhouse-inspired spaces. The combination of raw leather’s warm hues with soft lighting creates an inviting ambiance that entices both the eye and the soul.

2. Natural Stone

The use of natural stone in lighting fixtures is a nod to the timelessness of nature’s craftsmanship. Whether it’s the subtle elegance of marble or the rugged appeal of granite, integrating natural stone into lighting design adds a sense of permanence and sophistication. Beyond their aesthetic allure, stone elements offer functional benefits such as heat resistance and durability, ensuring that your lighting fixtures stand the test of time. From tabletop lamps with marble bases to pendant lights with stone accents, this trend is illuminating spaces with an earthy, grounding beauty.

3. Slate

Slate, with its distinctive layered texture and earthy colors, has emerged as a unique material in the world of lighting design. Renowned for its ability to split into thin sheets, slate allows designers to craft delicate lampshades and intricately patterned pendants. The interplay of light and shadow on the uneven surface of the slate creates mesmerizing patterns, elevating the visual appeal of any room. This eco-friendly material not only complements modern and industrial aesthetics but also introduces an element of rustic charm that transcends time and trends.

4. Wood Veneer

Wood has always been a favorite choice for interior design, but its application in lighting has evolved beyond solid wooden fixtures. Thin slices of wood bonded to a base material, or wood veneer, have become a go-to option for creating soft, diffused lighting. As well as, veneer lampshades showcase the natural grain patterns and textures of various wood types, infusing spaces with a warm and cozy ambiance. The delicate glow emanating through the veneer adds a touch of natural serenity, making it ideal for spaces designed to evoke tranquility and harmony, such as bedrooms and meditation corners.

In a world seeking sustainable and organic solutions, the emergence of natural materials in lighting trends is a welcome sight. Leather straps exude elegance, while natural stone offers timeless grandeur. Slate, with its distinct texture, captivates us with its enigmatic beauty, and wood veneer brings warmth and calmness into our lives. These materials illuminate not only our spaces but also our minds, reconnecting us with nature’s wondrous allure. As we embrace these captivating lighting trends, we embark on a journey that celebrates the beauty and sustainability of the natural world in our everyday lives. So, let the light guide you toward a future illuminated by nature’s brilliance.

hello sourAV

Today we are giving you the inside scoop on some of the up-and-coming interior design trends. We are welcoming the new – the latest on home office spaces, wood-grained and touch-open cabinetry, soft cozy fabrics, and touch-less faucets. These design trends range from the oldest material known to man, all the way to the latest in modern technology.

  1. Dedicated home office or multi-use space.

With all that has been going on in the world, many of us have experienced bringing our work home. In doing so, we need a dedicated space to work, which has inspired many of us to create a home office – either upgrading the space we already have or transforming a room into an office.

Things to consider when creating a home office space (or a multi-use space for your kids and husband to also work from home):

    * Computer – It may be time for an upgrade. Your laptop needs to meet your daily demands.
    * Dedicated desk space – Whether a table or an actual desk, you need a place to spread out. Standing desks are growing in popularity.
    * An ergonomic chair – Give your back some love.
    * A reliable wireless router – You need a trustworthy Wi-Fi connection, because this is your livelihood.
    * Equipment – Good lighting, headset, microphone, a second (or third!) monitor, ergonomic keyboard, wireless mouse, charging accessories, a hyper drive (to plug in all of the extra USB connections), etc.

*Optional: A room with a window for natural lighting, a friendly plant to add color and keep you company, your favorite scented candle, and optional… pants. 😊

  1. Wood grain and natural finish cabinetry.

Natural wood cabinetry in kitchens, bathrooms, and offices have a beauty that adds warmth and luxury. Alder, cherry, hickory, maple, oak, and walnut are the recommended types of wood for high-traffic areas. The trend is still hot to bring a touch of nature inside.

When cabinetry is finished with a natural stain, it highlights the wood’s grain to bring out its unique personality and style. This individual texture can then complement the additional features, decorations, and accessories in the room. In fact, choosing natural cabinetry allows for both a simple and elegant or a more modern and drastic backsplash or flooring.

pastedGraphic_1.png

  1. Soft, textural cozy fabrics.

Who doesn’t take pleasure in running their palm over an exquisite fabric like velvet, mohair, soft bouclé, or hair on hide. We want design that not only makes us feel good but also feels good to touch.

When choosing material for a couch, try a rich, deep shade of luxurious velvet or the knobby, warm comfort of a soft bouclé. Pillows also are perfect covered in these gorgeous materials. I am dreaming right now of cuddling up with a velvet pillow.

One of the first Interior Design materials ever, continues on in a modern way. It is Hair on Hide. We’ve written more about that here, to share that even side tables can be covered with hide. You have to see the gorgeous pieces!

  2. Touch-open cabinetry to replace hardware.

Cabinet doors without handles use a mechanical opening feature which allows you to simply push the door front to open it. It works with face frame or frameless, overlay, and inset cabinetry to open and close perfectly every time. It provides a unique solution for upper doors in that it opens upward and is out of the way. This application is perfect for drawers too, and you don’t even need any additional space in the cabinetry to install it.

Gaining a lot of traction now for kitchens and remodels is a very handy electronic system that allows users to open bottom cabinetry with a wave of their foot. These are perfect for trash cans, recycling bins, or, really, any bottom cabinetry. There is no need to touch the cabinet door to open.

Some systems have a ‘wave of the foot’ mechanism located in the kick board below the cabinet. This triggers then release and open the cabinet or drawer. There are other systems that have more of a ‘kick-and-go foot pedal’ automatic hands-free opening systems. These devices are perfect when needing to throw items away without getting germs on the cabinet door or for any bottom drawer or cabinet when putting heavy pans or multiple dishes. Pop the mechanism with your foot and watch it open.

  3. Technology touch-less faucets.

Motion sensor faucets are not just for the public restrooms anymore. It’s not only logical and more cleanly, but also elegant and modern. There are two features to look for. The single sensor is at the foot of the faucet that detects your hand or a container to initiate the water. It turns the water on when you place your hands under the faucet and turns the water off when you take your hands out. The double-sensor has one extra wave sensor on the neck of the faucet. You get to control the flow of water with a wave of your hand.

Three main reasons to choose a touchless faucet (when you’re needing replacement) are:

  1. It’s so clean and safe. No touching the handle getting everything under the sun on the handle, washing, rinsing, and then touching the handle again. It’s so much more ‘germ-free’.
  2. It’s very quick and easy. From kids to great grandma, all you have to do is hold your hands under the faucet and it works. Anyone can do it.
  3. It’s so futuristic. You and your guests are going to love how so very modern it is, every time you use it.

Also, not going away in faucet design are the black finishes and brushed gold, but a new shiny updated antique brass is here too.

We are using these design trends daily in our Interior Design, Dallas-based business all while maintaining a classic timeless overall design for our clients. If you’d like to see more, follow us on Instagram at @bgidesigner.

Best,

hello sourAV

Homeowners and designers use color and design to create an intended atmosphere. Wassily Kandinsky wrote, “Color is a power which directly influences the soul.” The space we’re creating should reflect the people who live inside and positively, deeply impact their soul. To help us find the perfect color to invite into our homes, the top three paint color specialists have released their 2021 Color of the Year!

In no particular order, (insert drum roll…) here they are.

Sherwin-Williams 2021 Color of the Year is Urbane Bronze SW 7084. It’s a sophisticatedly, warm brownish-bronze. It brings us down-to-earth and invites the feelings of wholesomeness and friendliness. Brown is a top choice for living room and kitchen walls because it is the color of comfort. When gazing at it, we are drawn in, encouraged to grow roots… to deeply settle in and get comfortable.

With so many of us staying home and working from home, this color brings a tranquility and peacefulness that warms our soul. When we realize the blessings that come from this time of slowing down and breathing deep, Urbane Bronze can be a welcomed friend in our homes. We’ve already been using this hue in projects from last year that are yet to be complete so we are looking forward to adding Urbane Bronze to our portfolio!

By far, blue is the most popular color in the US and this next 2021 Color of the Year by Benjamin Moore, Aegean Teal 2136-40, does not disappoint. Like a warm summer breeze, this teal color almost seems to want to reach out to nourish your spirit. The qualities that this blue brings to the soul are confidence, trust, loyalty, and freedom.

Aegean Teal is perfect for Kitchens and Dining spaces. This soothing color compares to waking up in the Maldives – reflective, shimmering, crystal waters. It has a long-lasting appeal perfect for extravagant entertaining and everyday family dinners. Imagine a statement piece such as a sofa or buffet table in this gorgeous teal.

Pantone choose two complimentary colors this year, Ultimate Gray 17-5104 and Illuminating 13-0647. With all that is happening in the world right now, this color combination brings the grounding gray, solid and practical, together with a sunshine yellow, full of hope and brightness for the new year.

This past BGI project above yielded to this palette in a warmer shade.

These complimenting colors would be perfect for a home office or guest bedroom. This calm gray alongside the fresh, bright yellow will inspire and bring a feeling of happiness to your work or overnight guests. Whether you choose to put the Ultimate Gray on the walls and work in pops of cheerful Illuminating Yellow or you’re more bold, painting a main wall this energizing yellow and then bringing balance in with neutral gray pieces, these two colors are going to be a hit this year. We are definitely looking forward to implementing this color combo in some upcoming projects this year!

What do you think of these 2021 color picks? We’d love to hear your thoughts or, even better, send us a photo of the Color of the Year on a wall or a highlight piece in your home!

hello sourAV

One of the biggest impacts on a room are the very walls (and ceiling) that create it. Whether those walls are textured or smooth, painted a crisp white or a bold color or two or there’s wainscoting added or molding throughout one thing is certain to stick around, literally, and that’s wallpaper. It’s been as much as a bad word in the past but designers everywhere are utilizing this material in a range of designs to add individuality and a fresh perspective to their client’s homes. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention how much we love using wallpaper at BGI!!

We used a Robert Allen fabric to upholster the wall to help the shade blend into the design.

While trends in wallpaper change every year in terms of color, style, and even texture, this trademark in the design industry can have the biggest impact on a room and drastically transforms any space. It acts as its own piece of art, often becoming the cornerstone for the other pieces placed in a room. The options for wallpaper have also increased dramatically over the last decade or so. From natural fibers like grass and cork, to papers made with beads and even minerals.

We used a heavy metallic textured wall covering on the ceiling and a small pattern metallic on the walls in this formal dining room.

With more eco-friendly and green solutions being put on the market, wallpaper has continued to stay on trend even outside of what it looks like. Fire-resistant, stain resistant, and waterproof wallpapers have also become more mainstream. The biggest aspect to keep into consideration when selecting wallpaper is the use of the room it is going in. Does it need to be durable and wipeable vinyl in a powder bath with lots of traffic or can it be a natural grasscloth material that isn’t durable at all but a beautiful layer added to the space? This is where a designer can help guide you to your selection and making the right one for the particular room.

We selected a serene green silk look for this master bedroom design.

Wallpaper is definitely one aspect of the interior design world that is going to stick around indefinitely….and we’re not sad about it at all!

hello sourAV

Tile has been around as long as any other building material, but trends in color and shape come and go as quickly as the seasons. One tile trend that made a big entrance in the design world, in more ways than one, is large format porcelain tile. This trend is sure to become a quick classic. This streamline tile works in any style whether it be mid-century, traditional or contemporary.

While floors are the natural choice for large format tile to be applied, they are not the only place this tile can shine. Let’s take a look at all the ways this timeless tile can be used!

Fireplaces – A grand scale tile deserves a grand scale space. Fireplaces are a great way to showcase textures and even patterns that the tiles create as a whole. The photo below is a great example of grout lines that are hardly seen so as not to interrupt the pattern on the tile itself.

Bathrooms – Large scale tiles can be great when applied to shower walls, as a feature wall behind the vanity, and even as wainscoting. They’re easier to clean than smaller scale tiles with fewer grout lines! The example below appears is nearly seamless.

Home Design Inspiration: Elegant, Crisp, and Refined | Interior Design Dallas | Barbara Gilbert Interiors
Shower.

Kitchens – We’re seeing kitchen backsplashes in large format tile more and more! It can be cheaper than a full stone slab backsplash with the same amount of cleanability. Plus the sleek look will last for years to come!

Laundry and Utility – Take your laundry or utility room up a notch by going for a larger tile. It will look more streamline than generic 12″X12″ tiles and at the same cost!

One of the biggest advantages of larger scale tiles is that they offer a bigger surface area for more unique patterns and designs that might not be found in smaller tiles. So instead of each individual tile creating a pattern, the tile itself has pattern (as seen in the fireplace picture above and the close up below!). However, large surfaces like floors and tall fireplaces can really showcase a pattern created by laying the tiles in herringbone or other designs. This is more subtle application of pattern, but it’s just as effective.

Large format tile is sure to remain a big hit in the design world. What are your favorite tile trends? Let us know in the comments!

hello sourAV

A backsplash can be the pièce de résistance to a kitchen design. It’s often the first thing that draws the eye of guests or potential buyers. And this can be both a good and a bad thing. A tile that is too flashy may only suit certain tastes, whereas a backlash that lacks luster can be just as distracting and boring. Let’s tale a look at the hottest trends and timeless classics that could make selecting the perfect backpsplash a little easier!

More often, slabs of stone are being used as backsplashes. This gives a seamless look from the counter to the backsplash, and is arguably the easiest to clean since there are no grout lines to grab onto those pesky food particles. It also checks one more thing off of your list of things to select. A win-win!

Akin to the slab style, large scale tiles are another up and coming trend! It doesn’t take a lot of tiles to fill all that is needed in a space, and there are also very little to no grout lines with this style. Large tiles are also a much more wallet friendly option compared to a full slab backsplash.

Slab and large format tile are one of our favorite trends. In fact, we currently have projects that we are implementing this sleek design into and can’t wait to show you how it turns out!

Subway tile is probably the most classic tile that appeases to almost anyone. It’s especially trendy in elongated styles that are laid out straight or in herringbone or chevron patterns instead of off center like the more “traditional” look. This design is also seeing more materials aside from the typical white or flat colors that are often expected, such as the silver leaf shown in the images above!

Another classic style are hand-made tiles that are painted or stamped, such as cement tile. The encaustic tile shown above is a beautiful example of this trend! Hand-made tiles often offer a more unique or customizable design. Anything that demonstrates a handmade or artisan feel is coming in hot right now!

Last, but certainly not least, grout color! The grout color can be as important as the tile as it can take away or add to the overall look. Make sure to specify 1/16″ grout lines when possible. Some tiles prohibit grout lines this small, but it is the best result if it’s possible!

So tell us…What’s your favorite trend or classic style?

Modern homes can still feel warm and connected — a Modern homes can still feel warm and connected — and one of our favorite ways to do that is by repeating a tone throughout the space. ✨ In this project, we carried shades of teal from room to room in different ways: cabinetry, tile, textiles, artwork, even accessories. Nothing feels overly “matchy,” but the subtle repetition keeps the open floor plan feeling intentional and cohesive from every angle. Think of it as giving your home a color story instead of just a color palette. 💙 #BGIDesign #InteriorDesign #ModernInteriors #OpenConceptLiving #ColorStory LuxuryInteriors TexasInteriors DesignDetails ModernHome InteriorStyling
