Dream Bedroom Designs We Love and Why
Dream bedroom design is one of my favorite parts of being a Dallas interior designer. I enjoy creating stylish and relaxing retreats for my clients, tailored for their unique personalities and arranged beautifully. This is such a personal part of a home’s interior design — people want a room that exudes privacy and comfort, giving a sense of escape from a hectic world.
I’ve chosen four bedrooms from my design portfolio I think fit the bill as wonderful and stylish escapes and what makes them so. I hope you enjoy!
Serene and green
Green is an excellent color for bedroom design. As related to the psychology of color, green creates a feeling of balance, calm, and harmony, especially in less saturated shades. I chose a light green wallpaper with beige medallions as a backdrop for this dream bedroom, which is anchored by a cream upholstered bed and a leather-and-fabric bench at its foot. Mirrored side tables offer a touch of sophistication and a sitting area by the windows offers a cozy spot to unwind.
Fun and funky
I designed this ‘tween bedroom for a special 11-year-old lady who knows what she likes, and color is one of them, especially purple. One essential part of the design process was creating a room that was not too babyish, and not too grown up, either. The result speaks for itself: fun and funky, but with enough “mature” style aspects to make it something that will endure into her college years.
Composed and curated
This is the master for an eco-friendly house I designed and I chose soothing shades of green as the backdrop for the room, a color you can see continued in the adjoining bath. As the room has hardwoods, I placed a contemporary area rug beneath the upholstered bed, which has a clean, tailored look, even with multiple pillows. Custom window treatments soften the space, as does a nearby arm chair and a tufted bench at the end of the bed. This space is appealing and stylish with a lot of elegant layers.
Luxe and lovely
A master bedroom should be a serene space that invites relaxation and rejuvenation. Working with my color-loving clients, we envisioned a space with hues of purple, silver, and gray. Multiple seating areas take the comfort level to the next level! The result is an elegant, curated dream bedroom that works both functionally and aesthetically, with pops of color that aren’t too saturated or intense. I would love to end my day here.
