Sideboards with Serious Style

Sideboards are an often-overlooked interior design element. These stylish furniture pieces have a fairly small footprint, but offer high-impact storage for your extra dinnerware, flatware, and table linens. I love to include a sideboard in the dining room as a perfect complement to the overall decor. They’re available in a range of modern and traditional designs in lots of styles, sizes, and colors.
Here are four of my favorite sideboards with serious style.

Scandinavian-Inspired Honeycomb Style

Add a touch of glamour to your dining room with the Honeycomb Sideboard from Studio A. It sits upon a reimagined Scandinavian-inspired walnut base reminiscent of the 1960s. Each of the deeply hand carved honeycomb doors is finished in antique gold leaf, giving the sideboard compelling interest from across the room. It is elegant and rich and impossible to overlook. There is an adjustable shelf in each compartment and the doors are hung with hyper-extended hinges.

Midcentury Modern Reimagined

Here’s a sideboard that will start conversations! This Klismos Transitional Media Cabinet blends midcentury modern influences with contemporary finishes. The white facade accentuates the classic starburst-style knobs, and the frame itself is done in a walnut hue for added visual contrast. What a striking piece!

Moroccan-Eclectic Aesthetic

Talk about visually appealing! This Global Views Tangier Media Cabinet, inspired by a pattern found in a Moroccan doorway, creates a highly detailed display of craftsmanship. The walnut-finished mango wood has been inlaid with square brass rods and features a solid brass frame complete with sweeping brass feet. Wow! Finished completely all around and with a smooth brass top, the cabinet can easily float in a room making it a stunning focal point. The four doors open with European adjustable hinges to feature two removable shelves.

Sleek, Contemporary Sideboard

For sleek style, I love the Nelson Media Cabinet with its slatted, sliding doors inspired by midcentury modern design. The doors are beautifully constructed to perfectly marry into a solid panel when slid together. The warm-finished acacia veneer covers a mahogany solid-wood frame, and American white oak interiors feature two drawers and one adjustable shelf behind each of the four sliding doors.
