Design Shuffle Names BGI a Top 10 of 2013

Design Shuffle, an online go-to destination for design professionals and enthusiasts, has revealed its first annual Top 10 of the year and Barbara Gilbert Interiors was selected!
Ten design professionals from each of the three regions of the United States were chosen based on the quality of their designs within their online portfolios. Design Shuffle’s popular “Fave” feature also played a contributing factor in the firms honored. Design enthusiasts and industry partners everywhere use the fun and helpful “Fave” feature to identify their favorite design photographs.

The design of the room was based on our client’s desire for an inspiring, relaxing retreat. Comfort, without sacrificing beauty, was essential. We chose neutral fabrics to create custom window treatments and bedding, and added splashes of color in shades of aqua and orange to bring life to the room.
As I often say, I love color! But I like to design with neutral furnishings and add color through accessories. Neutral fabrics ground a room and let artwork and accents take center stage. But best of all, when a client desires a change, accessories can be quickly and inexpensively changed out to create an entirely new room!

Our client also desired a comfortable chair for lounging and watching television when not in bed. A custom-made chair and ottoman in a soft, luxurious fabric positioned to face the television above the dresser was the perfect addition to the room.

Lastly, the master bathroom was remodeled in neutral colors as well. We chose artwork in a soothing shade of aqua for the room to tie the master suite together. Our client was thrilled with the overall result and, I must say, an absolute joy to work with!
