Here in Dallas, we have the Royal Chef, a gentleman who was Princess Diana's personal chef for years before her untimely death, and served other members of the royal household, as well as American presidents Ford, Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Clinton, and George W. Bush.
I've read about him and seen him on TV; once, he talked about the British habit of drinking tea and I was intrigued by the ritual and delicious fare. Somewhere between 2 and 5 p.m., it's time for afternoon tea ("high tea" is actually later in the day and with heartier fare). In Texas, he says he would serve lapsang souchong black tea because of its smokiness, as well as finger sandwiches like pimento or BBQ beef, and pecan pie tarts. How lovely is that?
If I were invited to afternoon tea with the Royal Chef, I'd want to dress the part, something feminine with a little flair and a dash of bling. So for this week's Delight in Design, I've imagined just this! Here's the outfit:- Chloé ruffled printed silk mini dress
