Color Crush: Moroccan Architecture

Color Crush: Moroccan Architecture | Interior Design Dallas | Barbara Gilbert Interiors
Moroccan architecture is one of the great styles in the world, dating back 2,000 years and showing multiple historic influences. Because of its location on the northwest coast of Africa, Morocco has been influenced by many cultures, from regional tribes to Arab neighbors and European colonizers. The architectural result is an enchanting amalgam of incredible details, rich colors, beautiful ornamentation, soaring arches, and geometric patterning.
Morocco is filled with breathtaking architectural gems like the photo I’ve chosen for this week’s Color Crush color palette. Shades of blue-green, blue, and blue-violet are predominant, and in color theory, this is called analogous pairing because the three shades are next to each other on the color wheel and it’s a classic color scheme, masterfully employed in this intricate arch. These cool shades work together marvelously with grays, creams, whites, and tan accents. This is a color palette that would look beautiful in interior design.
