Color Crush: Christmas Pie

Color Crush: Christmas Pie | Interior Design Dallas | Barbara Gilbert Interiors
Are you ready for Christmas in just over a week? I’m planning my holiday menu and the dessert planning gave me inspiration for this week’s Color Crush color palette: Christmas pie. This one is an apple-cranberry concoction and creates some rich, vibrant hues, as well as more neutral browns and taupe.
Pinks are interesting in the psychology of color. Red is a powerful color that can raise blood pressure, respiration, heartbeat, and pulse rate — it definitely shouldn’t be used in a room where you want to relax and take it easy! But its lighter cousin pink is a horse of another color, so to speak. Pink has a calming effect on people. In fact, pink has been used in prison holding cells to reduce erratic behavior among inmates, and it works. Isn’t that amazing? So while some people might think pinks aren’t good in big doses, you can count on it making you feel calm and safe in moderate splashes.
