Design Crush: Modern Gold Chandelier

Every other week, I share design finds I love. This week's Design Crush is the Belladonna six-light chandelier from Kalco Lighting. This gold chandelier is constructed on recycled steel, cut into unique shapes and formed into an orb. The orb has a peek-a-boo window that showcases the inside cascade of crystals and the six lights and is 26 inches in diameter. The round ball looks like a disco mirrorball that filters the light coming from the 60-watt bulbs inside, creating unique plays of light against the walls of your room. Color Crush: Dramatic Ocean Waves

Sometimes, the colors of nature are the best inspiration for a room design. For this week's Color Crush color palette, I've found a beautiful photo of dramatic ocean waves hitting rocks at the shoreline. These colors are subdued and lovely, ranging from taupe, medium brown, and chocolate, to the lightest gray, and shades of blue that grow progressively darker in hue. The most saturated is almost a teal color that would look great as an accent color. The lighter shades would be great as couch colors or paint. The overall effect would be calm and organic. Color Crush: Impressive Peacock Plumage

Peafowl, like butterflies, are one of nature's most showy creations. The male peacocks have spectacular plumage they'll show off and strut from time to time, especially if there's a peahen nearby. (If you get a chance, look up videos on YouTube of the peacock courting a female — it's so impressive to watch them show off their feathers.) Their vibrant iridescent plumage colors range from deep blues and greens to the lightest purples and creams. Some peacocks even have white and cream colored feathers instead of bright colors.
