BGI Receives ASID Legacy of Design Award

tmy3LegacyofDesignLogoRvrseWe are honored and thrilled to announce that Barbara Gilbert Interiors has received First Place in the 2013 ASID Legacy of Design Awards for Bathroom Design!
Founded in 1975 and with over 30,000 members, the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) is the oldest and largest professional association for interior designers in the United States. The association’s annual competition recognizes the finest interior design achievements in each state’s chapter and, needless to say, the competition is fierce!

We received the First Place in the Legacy of Design Award for a glamorous master bathroom remodel. The design of the room was based on our client’s desire for a fresh, updated space with a subtle and feminine palette to reflect her personal style. Here are all the details!

Chinioserie wallpaper, brassy gold hardware and outdated fixtures were replaced with modern fixtures and finishes. Slate tile with undertones of restful rust and dark blues was selected for the floor and shower surround, while a neutral marble was selected for the countertops and bathtub surround. To add contrast to the design, a reflective mosaic of glass tiles in complimentary rust and blue tones was used in the shower and bathtub skirt.

An exquisite Swarovski crystal chandelier was custom designed to add dazzling glamour to the room and matching Swarovski crystal knobs were installed to the glazed cabinetry as functional, elegant adornments. A local glass studio was also commissioned to create a vase and rondel for pops of color.

Recessed lighting was added for softer, task lighting and custom framed mirrors in a brushed, antique gold finish were hung above both vanities. Finally, a textured, natural sand wallpaper transformed the surface of the walls and added depth to the space. We could not be happier with the finished room or more proud of the award!
Special thanks go to Vetro Glass Blowing Studio and Gallery, Tony Edwards Remodeling and Pettigrew Luxury Furnishings for their expertise and assistance with this project. But most importantly, we’d like to thank our client for the trust and confidence she placed in us!

A partial furniture install can still make a big i A partial furniture install can still make a big impact ✨ This double-width living room in Flower Mound had a tricky floor plan, so we focused on creating connection. By linking the fireplace seating area with the TV seating zone, the space now flows naturally and feels intentional. The swivel chairs do the heavy lifting here, letting you turn toward whichever conversation feels right in the moment. We also love a smart detail moment. The custom L-shaped kitchen runner was created from remnant material, maximizing both function and value while keeping the look cohesive throughout the home. Thoughtful planning always pays off. If you’re navigating an awkward layout or planning a phased install, we’d love to help. #BGIDesignGroup #InteriorDesign #FurnitureInstall #LivingRoomDesign #FlowerMoundTX #DesignSolutions #ThoughtfulDesign #CustomInteriors
