Amy Guess, Allied ASID is an award winning Principal Designer at Barbara Gilbert Interiors in Dallas. She has practiced interior design for over a decade since graduating from the University of Texas at Arlington, an accredited architecturally based program. During her time at UTA, she expanded her rendering and program knowledge including AutoCAD, Sketchup, hand rendering techniques while gaining crucial knowledge of design principles, color theories, and materials. She specializes in detailed elevations and space plans that make the process as seamless as possible. Since graduating, Amy has been a designer at high-end Dallas residential and commercial design firms and used her experiences to continually refine and expand her projects in order to offer clients personalized, beautifully enriched, and efficient spaces. Since a young age, Amy has enjoyed reconfiguring and changing her surroundings in order to find the best possible solution. She has taken this idea and expanded it into her projects, finding that the aesthetics of a space can be dampened by lack of function for the occupants. As an award winning designer with the American Society of Interior Designers Dallas, she has spent several years in the past volunteering on the Dallas board, finding it rewarding to invest into her profession. Amy is continually looking for ways to grow and learn in her field in order to provide clients with the best possible outcome so she actively stays current by taking continuing education courses to increase her knowledge. Overall, Amy loves to be part of a team and work together with her BGI team, contractors, and the client to make the vision a reality while creating a fun and enjoyable process!
On a more personal note, Amy is happily married to her husband Adam and they have a three year old son named Harrison. On the weekends, you can find Amy with her family and their two miniature schnauzers outside working on the yard or playing at the park!
