Barbara is the Past President of the Interior Design Society (IDS), DFW Chapter, and currently serves on the National Board of the Interior Design Society.
A respected expert in her field, Barbara has contributed her design advice to television, radio and online programs such as HGTV, Good Morning Texas, DFW Closeup, KSAX DFW Nonstop, and House Talk Today. She has also served as a presenter for the 2011 Dallas Home and Garden Show and a judge of the 2011 and 2012 Habitat for Humanity Design Duels.
Amy Guess, Allied ASID, is a graduate from The University of Texas at Arlington where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design. After a successful start in the interior design business, she joined the Barbara Gilbert Interiors team to offer her skills in AutoCAD, Photoshop, Sketch Up 3D, and overall design sense.
She has won ASID Legacy of Design awards, ASID Design Ovation awards, and been featured in Texas Home & Living as an up-and-coming designer in just the few years she has been in the field. With a passion for interior design, she especially enjoys designing custom furniture and accessories tailored to the client’s style and needs.
Liz is a Dallas import from San Francisco bringing design and project management experience from her past positions at Williams-Sonoma and Sotheby’s International Reality. She moved to the West Coast after obtaining her Master of Arts in Interior Design from Harrington College of Design in Chicago and her Bachelors in Communications from the University of Iowa.
Liz is a natural organizer and communicator and strives to bring people and things together to function well. Her technical design skills and passion for project coordination make her a valuable member of the BGI team.
Leah has a degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin and more than ten years of experience as a writer, editor, and social media maven. She’s a digital evangelist and Dallas native with a love of design and architecture.
Leah has managed the social media presence of a wide range of clients, from a $3-billion healthcare company to a start-up, community-powered digital store. Leah oversees social media and special projects for Barbara Gilbert Interiors.
