When it comes to consoles, sideboards, and buffets, I look for sleek style and bold statements. That’s why I love this Yosemite Home Décor modern console and chose it for this week’s Design Crush.
Called the Casablanca console, this piece is made of solid mango wood and features a three-dimensional wave pattern that flows across the four front doors in a weathered, off-white finish. They are supported by Euro and piano hinges; dual inner cabinets have a single removable inner shelf for storage. A gold-finished metal base and accents with lovely patina complete the presentation. The rear of the cabinet has open slats for cord management and it measures 18-81-36 inches.

Take your bathroom lighting to the next level with an eclectic, geometric bath sconce I’m featuring as this week’s Design Crush.
The Troy Lighting Expression bath sconce comes with one, two, three, or four double-ended lights, with gold leaf and gloss opal shades — it is available with silver leaf, too. The size and finish options make it easy to use in a design scheme and it offers a look that is both sophisticated and accessible. Geometric shapes are quite on-trend and I’ve seen a lot of this showing up in chandeliers. That this is a sconce brings the trend to the bathroom.

With a palette inspired by Audubon’s painting Great Blue Heron, Fireclay Tile’s new line of glass tile reveals a lovely aesthetic and a look we’re excited to include in our future designs!
We’re fans of Fireclay Tile and have used their products many times before. This new line of glass tile is available in shades ranging from desert hues to calm and watery blues. They come in gloss, matte, and slip resistant finishes, the latter an important consideration if you’re putting the tile in a wet area. Suitable for interior and exterior walls, floors, steam showers, pools, and spas, there’s a color and size for every design enthusiast to love. (They come in smaller mosaic sizes and larger field tile sizes, too.)
Fireclay Tile stands out as a manufacturer because their products are made to order and made by hand. They employ environmentally friendly practices — almost all water at their Vancouver factory is grey water that’s been captured during the rainy season, filtered, and put right back to work. In addition to glass tile, they make a variety of other products out of their glass waste. Scrap glass is saved and later melted into custom one-of-a-kind work, like art pieces, bowls, and tiles. They even send their clear glass scrap material to a company that makes reflective paint for roads.

When you’re searching for one-of-a-kind wall covering with a sleek, contemporary look, leather wall panels are a wonderful option. Our Design Crush this week comes from Garrett and they offer color, texture, and creativity.
These leather wall panels offer an extensive color palette with over 600 options. Textures include sheepskin, steer hide, caiman, or stingray embossed leather. You can also choose from a big range of sizes, buttons, beveled edges, and even padding — they’re all custom made, which is a major plus in our book!
Pictured above is an example we love: gray padded wall panels with leather fully wrapped and secured around foam topped, routed MDF substrate, about 3/4 inch thick. There’s no added urea formaldehyde (NAUF), making this a healthier option for homes, and all their wall tiles are adhered to a recycled leather backer.

In interior design, lighting is added in layers and each layer plays a key role in creating the right mood in a room. It’s a key element we work with every day.
Lighting not only makes a space functional, but also affects the ambience. As an example, imagine an intimate dinner with glaring fluorescent lights above the table. Terrible idea, right? Now imagine that same intimate dinner with an elegant chandelier casting a warm glow. That’s more like it!
My Design Crush this week, the Hammerton Element Chandelier, offers decorative accent lighting and a stunning aesthetic that explores the relationship between symmetry and asymmetry. Created of blown glass and hand-polished steel, this artisan chandelier is sculptural and available in more than 20 finishes and a wide selection of glass and shade options. Because it is handcrafted, it can be customized in size, too (we like the 86-inch option).

If you’re looking for a modern dining table with sculptural style and timeless appeal, my Design Crush will captivate.
The Curzon table from ModLoft sits gracefully atop geometric wired legs made of chromed steel or painted metal. The table top is unconventionally angled and made of wood or lacquer in three shades: teak, cathedral ebony, or glossy white. This combination accounts for a visually arresting appeal and would make any meal an experience to remember. I particularly like the contrast of the thin legs to the stately presence of the top. I think it would be destined to become the focal point of any room.
Part of its wow factor is its size — the small size at 87 inches seats eight to ten people. The large size at 102 inches seats ten to twelve. Either are perfect for entertaining in style!

The farmhouse look is showing up in high-end design, especially when the aesthetic is on the sleek side with contemporary appeal that works in a luxury transitional space.
That’s one reason I’ve chosen the Samantha Cabinet by Gabby as this week’s Design Crush. This large wooden French farmhouse cabinet features a unique metal design on the door fronts, echoed on the cabinet doors below. It has plenty of storage both behind the glass doors and in the cabinets, with a light oak finish. Its substantial size makes a real statement (77.5 inches wide by 17.25 inches deep by 88.75 inches high.

The clean lines and stylized look of this midcentury modern oak dresser offers a one-of-a-kind look for the bedroom or other room in a home.
This week’s Design Crush is the Theodore Alexander Collins quarter oak veneer dished handle dresser. Nine drawers are self closing and are lined with felt and the piece has slightly splayed legs. The overall aesthetic feels both modern and iconic at the same time, a contemporary take on a classic look and the design succeeds admirable. It is good-sized, measuring 84.5 by 21.5 by 33 inches.

For today’s Design Crush, I’ve found a striking accent chair that will have all your guests wanting to know where you discovered something so stylish.
The Palomar midcentury lounge chair from Twist Modern features intricate, laser-cut design panels in a rich espresso-colored wood and is an artful addition to a home or office. The oatmeal-colored Belgian linen has added stain resistance, so it’s practical, too.
This piece is handcrafted using construction of solid, kiln-dried European beech wood for a lasting investment in style. The side panels are interchangeable so you can create a whole new look simply by sliding in new ones. The seat height is 18 inches and the chair measures 29 inches wide, 33 inches deep, and 34 inches tall. And if you can’t get enough of this style, you can also buy an accent table, coffee table, or credenza from the same collection. Love the look!

With sophistication and surprisingly delicate look considering its size, this grand lotus chandelier creates elegance in any room.
Created by Currey & Co., the grand lotus chandelier gets its aesthetic from a combination of craftsmanship and an antique contemporary silver leaf finish — I love its warmth. This light is skillfully fashioned from wrought iron, an unusual interpretation of the blossom upon which Asian deities are known to pose. The six-light fixture measures 30 inches in diameter and is adjustable in height, so this piece is good sized for a larger dining table. It is also available in an antique gold finish. What do you think?
